Line 6 DL-4 Delay Stompbox Modeler
The Line 6 DL-4 Delay Stompbox Modeler is the delay pedal of choice for anyone looking to achieve a wide range of delay tones. Whilst the DL-4 is quite obviously a digital unit, it does a solid job of emulating 16 vintage delay and echo effects. The effects include Tube Echoplex, Space Echo, Deluxe Memory Man, Analog Delay and Reverse. The DL-4 also provides the space for 3 programmable presets and Tap Tempo which would come in very handy.
I think you could describe the Line 6 DL-4 as "feature laden". As well as all the effects it is also capable of 14 second of sample-loop memory, and expression-pedal input for when you want to get weird with some realtime control.
When you consider what it would cost for you to buy each of the effects emulated by the DL-4 individually, then the Line 6 DL-4 Delay has to be considered as fantastic value. Due to its versatility, the DL-4 is fast becoming the onstage delay pedal of choice for a wide range of guitarists including Matt Bellamy (Muse), Gurrg (Mudvayne), Jody Porter (Fountains of Wayne) and Mike McCready (Pearl Jam).
