Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall) guitar rig
->
Matt Bachand is guitarist for metal band Shadows Fall, a band often linked to Killswitch Engage, largely due to Adam Dutkiewicz's involvement in an early incarnation of Shadows Fall. Bachand's rig is all metal. Ibanez, EMG, and Krank, and bares a strikingly resemblance to the rig of the fastest guitarist alive, Skwisgaar Skwigelf.
Bachand primarily uses Ibanez Custom Shop guitars, including the Ibanez Prestige RGA series, custom Ibanez SZ guitars and his Ibanez signature model, MBM1 Matt Bachand Signature model. All of his guitars are fitted with EMG active pickups, with an EMG 81 in the bridge and either a EMG 60 or EMG 85 in the neck. Generally his guitar is tuned to Drop D, tuned a further step down.

According to his rig profile in the Guitar World, Vulgar Display of Power column, Bachand uses Krank Series One Revolution 100 watt head for distorted tones, and a Krank Chadwick 50 watt head for clean tones. In the past he's also been seen playing various Marshall heads including a Mode Four.

In a 2004 article in 'Marshall Law', Bachand was said to use the Marshall Mode Four live.
To add further to the crushingly heavy nature of their sound, rhythm ace, Matt Bachand has beefed-up the band’s backline with a MODE FOUR, complementing Jon Donais’s JCM800 2203 driven rig perfectly.
